In the summer of 2011, Alex Tschopp was at Cornell for a summer management program. The sun was brightly shining and he forgot his sunglasses back home. He figured he could just walk into the Cornell store and purchase a pair. However, he found it strange that they didn’t sell any. Tschopp is now working with his best friend and Cornell student, Anthony Scandariato, to solve the problem he faced during the summer. With plans to make Collegiate Sun a national brand, Tschopp and Scandariato have launched the sunglasses in the Cornell store and 12 other institutions this Spring. Collegiate Sun’s goal as a company is to engage college campuses around the country, but not only the colleges and universities themselves. As is well known, the college experience is comprehensive. Not only do students take pride in the college or university they attend, but they value the college house they live in and the surrounding shops and café’s that make each campus unique.
