StartUp Career Fair
After its first success a year ago, the Startup Career Fair made its second debut at Duffield Hall on January 30th. The Startup Career Fair boasted dozens of employers looking for fresh new talent that will help take their start ups to the next level. Some of the employers included Birchbox, GiveGab, Appinions, 121Nexus, and Sproutel to name a few. Let’s just say, for once, Duffield didn’t sound like it normally did: subdued. The clamor of resumes hitting desks along with the buzzing of people talking and networking was refreshing.
Personally, I enjoyed this career fair a lot more than the traditional career fairs because the recruiters were excited to see the new pools of talent that Cornell had been cultivating, especially since many of the recruiters were also Cornell alumni. The recruiters were all very entertaining and friendly. Most of them were looking for other students to join their fresh teams and expand! If you didn’t know, start ups are a great way to strengthen your skills in various areas and you might even be able to own some of the company if you join in the early stages! So if you’re looking for a new and exciting opportunity, definitely check out these start up career fairs or anything start up related. Whether you’re an engineer or not, all you need is passion and determination, and there’s no way you couldn’t get what you want.
