Shark Tank Profile: Daapr

Daapr – Shark Tank 2014 Pitch

Comments from daapr:

Who is on the executive team and how many other students are on the whole team?

Executive Team:

Aaron Schifrin, CEO
Alex Meyers, CTO

Team: 6 additional team members divided between business development and programming.

What is the business?

daapr is a social media platform dedicated to link sharing and content discovery.

Why is it valuable or interesting?

Link sharing on current social media platforms is marred by constrained norms of use and limiting user interface designs. As a result, the vast majority of online content continues to be shared via email. At a time when social media continues to be disaggregated into smaller single purpose platforms, daapr is offering users a place to share and discover engaging published content.

When was the business created?

Although the idea for daapr was initially conceived in April 2013, development did not begin until the summer.

What does daapr think about the entrepreneurship community at Cornell?

Throughout the process, the team has enjoyed the support of Cornell’s entrepreneurship community and are particularly grateful for the 100 alpha users currently testing out the site.
