Who is on the executive team and how many other students are on the whole team?

Executive Team:

Ziduan (David) Na, MBA 2015
Howard Zheng, MBA 2015

What is the business?

We are at the concept and prototype stage of building a social betting app which employs a full suite of game elements and mechanics with an intention to monetize.

Why is it valuable or interesting?

We think the app/game should be fun and engaging because of topics trending and game-like experience. Just as you would read on twitter and facebook many time during the day (or night), this app would allow the topics to trend dynamically so there’s always news feed on things that interests you. At the same time, each player can participate and bet on the outcomes so that if they win there are a number of benefits including experience level increase, posting to network about the win and winning virtual money in the game. Even if the player don’t predict the outcome, the bet could still be posted to the network given it’s interesting or relevant enough to start a discussion.

When was the business created?

About two weeks ago. But I have had the idea since my pre-MBA internship during summer 2013 when I was the product manager for a social casino game start-up in London, UK

What does inFav think about the entrepreneurship community at Cornell?

Johnson School offers a number of entrepreneurship courses and there’s always start-up events that helps us connect and network. A lot of my MBA classmates are very experienced entrepreneurs or wannabes like myself.

What is inFav’s favorite entrepreneurship resource at Cornell? ie: Popshop, professors, etc.

eLab’s Prof. Dan Cohen gave us a lot of suggestions with regards to the pitch. And a few classmates of ours Solomon Tesfaye and Kamal Hassin has been helping us identify the weaknesses in the business model and pitch as well as see things from different perspectives . Ami Stuart has been awesome along the way.
